Fence Trends 2020

As 2020 is coming to an end, we wanted to highlight some of the top fence trends for the year to help give you some ideas for your future fence project. Fencing is often one of the first thing others notice when they visit your home, so why not put some time and research into finding the fence you like!

One trend that we've seen becoming very popular is the horizontal wood fence or as some call it the "hipster fence". It's a traditional wood fence, but the planks are flipped horizontally instead of vertically, giving the home a more modern look and feel. What do you think? Note, this trend seems to be particularly popular on the West Coast.

Another trend, is a wood painted fence. Many homeowners want to add a pop of color to their home. You can choose to do this in one small area, say around your deck or if you want to go big do the whole thing. If you do decide to paint your fence, we recommend starting small to make sure that you like it first. The one downfall with a painted fence, is that it requires more maintenance due to the paint chipping and weathering when exposed to the elements. This pink/purple color definitely adds a warm, happy and homey feel to this deck area.

A lattice fence is another trend of 2020. Something very different, that doesn't provide a lot of privacy but yet it adds an element of openness. You can then easily grow different vines or plants along the lattice as well.

Another super fun trend, is the geometric patterned fence. Yes, we know very unique and different. You can do this pattern with a variety of different materials like composite, iron and wood. This design allows you the ability to be creative with your fencing. You can do this pattern as an accent or decide to do your whole fence in the pattern.

Do you have a favorite design trend for 2020? Let us know, we'd love to make your fence dreams a reality.
